            Hello and welcome to my website;

My name is Joe Castro. I have been building plastic, wood and metal models for over 45 years. In 1975, I built my first real sand dragster. My first street car was a 1949 Mercury which was my everyday transportation. Throughout the years I have built over a dozen street cars. My favorite projects were always chopped top 49-51 Fords and Mercurys. After graduating from the Frank Hawley School of Drag Racing, I bought my first Super Comp Dragster. In only my third year of N.H.R.A. racing, I won a Super Comp Association Championship. I have since driven several other dragsters. I participated in several other types of racing including Sand Drags where I competed in the Fast Four and the A/Fuel classes. I was even fortunate enough to win two Stock Car races at the now historic Mesa Marin Raceway half mile oval track in Bakersfield. I have since quit racing, but I still love the car building and the modeling hobby. And for the past two years, I have been building models for customers all over the country.
